Your AI provider and model
Get Assist does not force one AI model on every customer. Each workspace selects and configures its own AI provider, credentials and model from the options Get Assist supports. Get Assist provides the inbox, routing, settings and controls around it.
Each AI provider has its own terms, including whether it may use data to improve its models. Workspace owners should review the terms of the provider they choose.
What is sent to the AI
When a workspace turns on AI features, Get Assist sends the selected provider:
- the customer’s message and relevant earlier messages in the conversation;
- the parts of the workspace’s knowledge base that relate to the question.
Limits of AI replies
- AI replies can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, even with a good knowledge base.
- The AI only knows what is in the conversation and the knowledge base.
- AI replies are not legal, medical, financial or safety advice, and should not be used for it.
People stay in charge
A person on the business’s team can take over a conversation at any time, with the earlier messages still in view. The business decides how AI is used in its workspace and is responsible for replies sent from it.
Telling your customers
Where the law or a platform’s rules require it, businesses must tell their customers that replies may be generated by AI. This includes Meta’s rules for automated messaging on Messenger and Instagram.
