What the integration does
- Shows direct messages sent to the account you connect in your Get Assist inbox.
- Sends the replies that you, your teammates or the AI write back through Instagram.
- Lets the AI answer from your knowledge base and hand a conversation to your team.
Get Assist does not post to your account, and it does not access accounts you did not connect.
What you need
- An Instagram professional account (business or creator). Personal accounts cannot be connected.
- A Facebook Page linked to that Instagram account, which you can manage.
- Permission to manage that account’s messages.
How to connect
- Sign in to Get Assist and open the channel settings of your project.
- Choose to connect Instagram. You are taken to Meta to log in.
- Review the permissions shown and choose the account to connect.
- Return to Get Assist. New direct messages start appearing in your inbox.
How to disconnect or revoke access
- In Get Assist: open the channel settings of your project and disconnect the account. New messages stop arriving straight away.
- In Instagram or Facebook: open the settings that list apps and websites or business integrations connected to your account, find Get Assist and remove it. This revokes the access you granted, even if you can no longer sign in to Get Assist.

Permissions Get Assist asks for
Get Assist uses Facebook Login. Instagram accounts are connected through the Facebook Page they are linked to.

How your data is handled
Get Assist uses the messages, usernames and attachments from your connected account only to show conversations to your team, to generate suggested or automatic replies, and to send replies back. The Privacy Policy explains what is stored, who processes it and for how long.
